My younger brother brought home a book from the school library, I think, that had tales of Lazy Liza Lizard. The lizard stole a hoe-cake, and part of the snake's revenge was to fake a ghost, or some such, chanting Snake baked a hoe cake. In that version it ended with some further verse saying "Lazy Liza Lizard, I'm gonna cut out your gizard, and throw it in the lake..." (cause you took something that belonged to Mr. Snake--I don't remember the exact wording here). I never knew it as a song, although the 3 of us brothers used to put on dramas for our parents and other little brother, and we once did Lazy Liza Lizard, Mr. Frog and Mr. Snake.
