Exposure is good for ANY act, folk or otherwise. And when it's a lesser known genre (as most folk is, unfortunately), it's about the *only* way to get new audience.

Take 'em to shows. Take 'em to renfaires to listen to 'traditional' bands. Take 'em to family style pubs and listen to singalongs.

Do what you want, but also remember - if you force it, you've created someone who will hate the music for life.
