Tony---When I first got the Gibson I described further up the web, I called George Gruhn at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville who I new to be an expert from his columns in Guitar Player magazine. It was he that gave me this info, so I have always accepted this as the straight dope. There may have been some very high end or custom instruments that use the old logo though.
