I have to agree with C-flat, another person to accompany you and provide encouragement can make the walk so much more pleasurable. I often walk with music in a portable CD player or cassette player when I'm alone. I've found walking to be a great stress reliever and getting better fit makes it worthwhile. I've got to run, I mean walk, this thread is giving me the nod to get out there and walk.
P.S. When not walking, I alternate with bicycling, all the same benefits although I leave the music at home. Got to watch and listen for traffic.
