Just got word that the Annual Bluegrass Festival is again taking place in Dunmore East, Co.Waterford, Ireland next August 22nd to 25th. The line-up includes Hickory Project (USA), Cop(Czech Rep.),Coal Porters (USA/UK), White Lightning (UK) as well as some local bands like The Knotty Pine String Band from Co.Tyrone (Hope Mel is playing) and Neil Toner's Band ,Neil always seems to manage to gather a very good line-up on these occasions(And we miss him off the air waves still) Dunmore is a really beautiful little town on the Waterford Coast , for those who are not aware, and has been holding this festival for the past 7 years now. Last year the Shankman Twins really got the place jumping with their California based band, and I have very good memories of Burnt Toast the previous year, a New York based band with a fantastic musician called Fred Lance , a virtuoso on all the regular Bluegrass instruments. It should be bigger and better than ever this August. I cannot do the technie thing of Blue but their Web Address is : www.waterford-dunmore.com. I am certain that travellers to Dunmore will enjoy the Craic (in Blue?) and the area round about has plenty of Irish traditional music and sessions too, especially Dungarvan/Ring locality.)
