I'm curious as to which of you musical cats are members of Musicians'Unions. I'm wondering if it's worth the dues and possible restrictions (like having to turn down jobs that the union doesn't think pay enough). Also, if you do music in more than one state, do you have to pay union dues in every state where you gig? I'm told that the union does sometimes have grants to subsidize music for "nursing homes" (however that's defined), but I don't know the extent of such grants and how much paperwork is involved in availing oneself of those funds. Anyone have any experience here? Genie
