*snip from ill-placed message in another thread*
I myself am 19, I play guitar, upright bass, mandolin, pennywhistle, fife, and am learning fiddle, dobro, mountain dulcimer, banjo, and saxophone. I've been playing folk, cowboy, country, and celtic music for the past 5 or so years. I also hope to perform at Scarborough Faire next season in some musical function or another.
I've been going to the Bull and Bush (there's another club actually called the B&B in Dallas, so I avoid calling it that) for about 3 months (I think) and have described it in the past as 'a bluegrass gathering where they happen to play celtic music'. I've been looking for more jams like this one to expand my base of traditional/celtic songs.
