GUEST,Alex Illinois - Lake County Folk Festival (15) RE: Illinois - Lake County Folk Festival 23 Jul 02

Hey Art Thanks for the kind words. I agree with your comments on Sons. If you are talking energy on stage you just have to see Tanglefoot - five crazy Canadians (all five sing and play - guitar, fiddle, keys, mandolin and stand-up bass)who leave you breathless just watching them. Garnet Rogers is just the tops in guitar playing and songwriting and his baritone voice is so smooth on the ear. Small Potatoes are personal friends and favorites - pure professionals. Don Stiernberg is one of the best mandolinists in the country and is in great demand as a session player. Kat Eggleston is not only angelic-voiced blonde eye candy, she is a top guitar player (good enough to play in Shinobu Sato's Trio Basho) and a heck-of-a hammer dulcimer player as well. Not only that, but to make all these performers sound their best, we hired Kokomo Sound and Al Watson, the best acoustic sound engineer in the Midwest. Sorry, no check (by the time we pay all these folks we'll be in the pooorhouse). We thought about giving you another "lifetime achievement" award but decided to wait until you had finished achieving. If you can make it up to Lake County, we'll be pleased to comp you in to the festival. We even have an air-conditioned Green Room. Susan, what could be a better birthday present than a trip to a great festival.
