Reposted in Part TWO, as requested: A synopsis of my recent (2002) Tributaries article has been posted on the John Henry pages at http://www.ibiblio.org/john_henry/index.html It summarizes what I consider to be the most important evidence, but it is much less complete than the article itself. An 1895 photograph of Coosa Mountain Tunnel is also posted (taken from my article) and a 1930 photograph of "John Henry's last steel drill," sticking up in the rock outside the east portal of Oak Mountain Tunnel, will probably be posted there late next week, about August 30 or so, 2002.
