Many UK singers learned this from Ralph Rinzler. His version had most of the verses given above, plus Stood on the platform as her train rolled down the line Outside I was smiling, inside I was cryin Cause she's gone, she's solid gone He ended with I'll come back in the springtime, back where I belong If you see me coming you'll hear me sing this song Sing it now, sing it all day long Cause she's gone, she's solid gone (The second last line of this verse uses the same tune as the last line. Makes a lovely resolution to the song.) Ewan
