allanwill new group sounds like 'bread' (5) RE: new group sounds like 'bread' 25 Oct 02

I'm sure this is not it, but it might be interesting. I'm not sure what it's all about - just found it on some vague site (and I hope it doesn't give Max, Joe et al speed, I mean, goosebumps).

To the tune of American Pie

A long long time ago
I can still remember when
The Internet it made me smile
.
And I knew if I had my chance
I could make those packets dance
and maybe we'd be happy for a while
.
November 8th it made us shiver
with every packet we'd deliver
Speedbumps on the doorstep
We couldn't take one more step
.
I can't remember if I cried
when the stormtroopers came and tried
and something touched me deep inside
the day our network died
.

We were singing, Bye Bye to the Internet guy
He built a network across the ocean
and has to watch it all die
When speedbump came, we kissed the network good bye
singing this is how our Internet died
This is how the Internet died...
.
Did you write a book in vi
and can you give me a reason why
the Internet is really slow
.
now do you believe in IRC
would you like to chat with me
or can you take a bullet in the chest
.
We all came here from far away
We thought this network was here to stay
But now we know what's true
None of them have a clue
.
I was a network guy with clue enough
but speedbumps can make life realy tough
I knew that was out of luck
The day Our network died
.
