I sent this letter to: 'Descendants of John W Davis or current resident of' hoping that if it was his wife that was still living there and she passed or his daughter or even one of the grandkids that someone would know how to contact someone.

Well, I got this one returned today with several handwritten notations on it. One said VAC, which I would assume meant Vacant, another notation said ANK, which I interpret as Adressee Not Known. There was also a sticker on it from the UPS saying to RTS (Return to sender) If only I knew someone living in Dayton that could go and knock on a door for me!! Perhaps one of these days.. I still have the inquiry to the Army Personel Records Division in St louis to hear from. I will not give up being this close!
