Sorry - I must have pressed the wrong button. Anyway, it's that venomed snake I'm after. All I remember is

Come boldly on, no venomed snake

Could shelter in so cool a brake;

Child of the sun, he loves to lie

Mid nature's ruins, parched and dry,

Or round some tomb his scales to wreathe,

Fit warden of the gate of death.
