Chance was told: "We're playing in D today". Out of courtesy for the OT banjo picker (and often the fiddler) who tune differently for different keys or tunes the jam will try to stay in each key for a while. I think, with a few exceptions,the BG folks tend to play out of the same tuning most all the time and are able to switch keys without re-tuning. Meat for a whole 'nother thread. Why re-tune? Chip
