Someone mentioned earlier about Elvis's Martin D 18 being "clad in a peculiar corset-like cover". That was in fact, hand tooled leather and very popular with old time country musicians,back in the 50,s and 60,s. Hank Snow certainly comes to mind and Elvis being a protege of his, would account for the customizing. Even Waylon Jennings had a Fender electric done up. Mudcat,s own Rick Fielding, besides being a musicians musician, is also a gifted tooled leather artist, as I have a couple of his beautifully crafted personalized guitar straps. I have also seen intrument cases he has done and I'm sure he has even done a guitar cover at some time. Cheers, Glen
