The Barleycorn is very focussed on "new material", with a couple of good resident singer-songwriters (look out for Roger Lucy, he's GOOD), but overall a rather strong jazz/rhythm preference. First time that the "Flowers & The Guns" flopped...though "Emptyhanded" got an ovation. Eh, that's the way the cookie crumbles.Heard a great jazz 5-piece band from the townships (Enkasi), and sold 3 CDs, which covered taxi & drinks, so can't complain...If you ever go that way, look for Bill Knights or Alan Eatwell - friendly club!
