Thread Name: Other parting songs?
Subject: RE: Other parting songs?
Willie-O, Don't you mean "Fiddler's Green" rather than "Fisherman's Green"? Chorus:

"Dress me up in me oilskins and jumper
No more on the docks I'll be seen.
Just tell me old ship-mates
I'm taking a trip mates
And I'll see you someday in Fiddler's Green"

Written by John Connolly who sang with "Broadside" - a folk group from Grimsby. Bill Meek (who was my biology teacher at Grammer School) also sang with Broadside and wrote songs as well (some in conjunction with John).
