Peter: Ever read the "Alleluia Affair"? Brilliant little book written in the 70's (I think) by an Episcopal priest. Read it in an hour. All the crucified Jesus(es) come alive and climb down off of all the crosses, in all of the churches etc., around the world. Go out among society clad as they were and are confronted with all of the disbelief, cynicism, & despair in the world. Goes on from there in an absolute indictment of society, a bit more, then stunning conclusion.
