Please forgive my thoughtless sin
When my hoover sucked my budgie in.

My little friend was very blue
& alas, alack my carpet too
My little friend I did not see
When I let my hoover free

Oh what a crisis, what a shock
When I the hoover pipe did unblock
All mashed up & very dead
My nice blue budgie all covered red

So now he is with you oh lord
I hope that you are not appalled
I have now got a yellow bird
Which I hope will never be hoovered
