No, I've installed no toolbars, and no, we certainly don't need to live with these things! (It's like the "no call list"--I paid for a service to block them and by doing so indicate my unwillingness to receive them). Those people should go get jobs that don't depend on stealthily putting their ads into people's faces. This isn't the same as the popups that come in behind the online newspaper you read, offering great travel prices or insurance or mortgage services. Those are small, have html in them and lots of color to catch your eye. These are different, small information boxes, the kind you get when you're ready to log off of your email, for example, when the message pops up and asks if you want to delete all of the messages in your trash. It has no color, only text (none that can be highlighted), no html. They're insidious things, because they seem to get in even if nothing else is going on. They are set up to always stay in front of whatever else you're doing. They're coming in via the DSL and getting through the firewall that is supposed to block this stuff.
