They do it for the same reason they go to see the "Rocky Horror Picture Show". Because their behaviour there would shock Aunt Mabel. And they can go back to their jobs Monday and feel like they went wild on the weekend and nobody knows how crazy bad rebel fun they really are.

And our job is to whip them up into a frenzy and get them drinking as much as we can. I'm just thankful when it pays well. Then I can fool myself into thinking I'm getting a good price for my soul.

But by the end of the night, I grab a beer and sit in the corner hiding and scowling because I've had my fill of drunk and stupid for another weekend.
