Thanks for all the interesting input. I followed the links for the "Eleusis" game and it looks fascinating - I know some folks that would appreciate the challenge of playing!
Nigel - thanks for the tips on gin and dominoes. The info is very helpful. I got the rules from a library book and haven't played with anyone who actually knows what they're doing. Kinda like pitching darts in the dark.
Mudlark - the game you're referring to is, I belive, "A Question of Scruples" or just "Scruples" for short. I remember playing it, but haven't seen it around in the last decade or so (no more "scruples" in America?? Hmmmmm...)
I have played some board/card/solitaire games on the computer but it doesn't compare to sitting across the table from a good friend with something to eat and drink - just good, solid fun. I remember all-night games of "Risk" in college (never did conquer the world - was usually the conquered :-)) and some great matches of Othello (called "Reversi" on the computer for some reason). Play "War" and "Beggar Your Neighbor" (mindless card-flipping) with the kids on occasion.
The internet is a great source of rules for games, though... check out card games
Might keep ya busy for awhile - gotta love cheap entertainment!!

Peace,
Bo
