I shared the bill with Biff Rose on two different occasions. You can believe that they were really differenbt. Both gigs were a week long at Charlotte's Web -- a nightclub/coffeehouse (later a bar) in Rockford, Illinois. Tis was the mid-70s. Mainly I recall a great song about a boy who runs off and joins the circus, knowing all along that he'll return for his true love named Molly (I think it was). Time passes and his dream is always to go back to her. Then, too much time has passed and the dream is long lost and threadbare. Not all of Biff's music was my cup o' tea, but this one was a great song.

One extremely cold night, Biff and I were being driven back to the farmhouse where we were put up for the gig and we had THREE flat tires. I've no idea how that all got worked out----but it did. The club's head man, Steve Powers, was driving and took care of it. I just recall being pretty drunk or whatever and not able to help out very much.

Ah, nostalgia !!!
