I got a similar letter, but it was not connected to CBC. It referenced a local songwriting organisation's website that I'm affiliated with.

On one hand, the letter was unique which suggests that it is not a mass mailing, but I'm still suspicious.

Mine is dated 10/6 and also refers to the January edition. The freelance writer's name is "Marco Langer". Ring any bells?
