When I worked on Tabernacle Street, near Old Street in London in the 1970s, I was quite close one of those lovely old cemeteries where you stroll through and suddenly realise that you've recognised several of the names on the stones.

I really like cemeteries. My dad's hobby was photography, and he loved to photograph stained glass windows. So whenever we went away anywhere, I spent a lot of the time, until I was old enough to be let loose alone on the world, hanging around old churches. Even if he wasn't taking pictures, he liked visiting old churches, old houses etc.
