Thread Name: Bruce Olson. RIP, Oct 31, 2003
Subject: RE: Bruce Olson. RIP
I only knew Bruce from his contributions here, but had great respect for him, not simply because of his knowledge, but also because he gave so freely and thoroughly to anyone who wanted to know something.

The thing that strikes me is that his contributions here set a high standard for the discussions that we have had, not only his special interests, but for everything else, as well. If you posted after a "Bruce O" post, you knew that your facts had to be accurate and your comments had to be well reasoned or you were out of the discussion--if you posted posted before him, you kept checking back to see what he had to say about it, because you knew that more often than not, he had the missing pieces--

When I read mudcat threads, even when they are not about music, I am amazed by detail and care that people tend put into their responses to questions, and I can't help but think that, after reading so many of Bruce's posts over the years, folks just figured that that is what is expected--
