Cycling whilst carrying forks is extremely unwise unless they are stored safely in secure panniers. If you avoid cycling with forks then you will not need to carry them home as well as buckled front wheels.

I note that you only seem to have carried home your forks and your buckled front wheel. What happened to the rest of the bike?
