Actually, it's a national park, under the auspices of te U/S/ Department of the Interior National Park Service, although physically it's sort of like a state park. It doesn't have great wonders, like the Grand Canyon, or Yosemite. Prince William Forest Park used to be worn-out farmland that the U.S. government took over some 70 years ago and restored as a demonstration that reclamation was possible.
