It is at this point that I should mention my friend Mike, a true bubba if ever there was one, from the great state of North Carolina. Mike is a Southern Baptisth. He drives a pickup truck, and he is just about the decenest guy I know. He shares a booth every year with me and Karen, who is a Wiccan priestess at the S.C.A. Pensic war. We get along just fine thank you, and he doesn't say anything to the nice gay men who come to me for blue feathers. He is amused that I say, "darn", when a man buys a blue feather. Yeah, he does drive a pickup truck, but there's no Confederate flag on it.
