It's a comfort to me to remember how wrong I've been in my predictions before. The sky is bleak- but somehow we've all muddled through in the past. Maybe we're all standing too close to the debacle.

I think we've created- or allowed it to be created- a sad, sad situation. My main concern for the moment is to get the bush and its offsh--ts safely out of office, and go from there. And I hope we'll never let a presidential election like the last one happen again.
