This sounds a little like how do you convince a moron about being a Lutheran, or Gay or A Jew or any other thing.   It seems to me that it is always best to let people do what they want, think what they want and be what they want. I try to respect all people regardless of their politics, race, religion or sexual preferences. What about this is difficult for people who try to be called "liberals?" I will readily agree that there are good points about your politics, and there are definately good things that you as a party have brought to the table. Can you or will you do likewise?
