Thread Name: Patrick Sky Information
Subject: RE: Patrick Sky Information
b. 2 October 1940, Live Oak Gardens, nr. Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Sky's folksinging career flourished upon meeting fellow Native American Buffy Sainte-Marie. They toured together for three years, eventually arriving in New York's Greenwich Village during the early 60s. Sky's own recordings followed his appearance on Buffy's early work and one of his songs, "Many A Mile", became the title track to her second album. Sky's debut featured both original songs and traditional material, a feature continued on his second collection. Sky was also actively involved in assisting the recently "rediscovered" Mississippi John Hurt and his guitar work can be heard on several of the veteran bluesman's 60s sessions. It was not until 1968 that Sky released a third album, since when his recordings have been sporadic, partly through choice and partly because of the uncompromising nature of his later compositions. Unhappy with modern music, Sky has since restricted his performances to traditional and small-scale venues.

Here is a picture of the gentleman.
