Subject: RE: BS: How do you Convince a Moron...
Just a take off on what Peg and Little Hawk have mentioned about the media... Thinking back to the debates between Bush and Gore, it was the media who was quick to jump in with their observations of just who had won... I watched them all from a Green Party perspective and would be hard pressed to see Bush as a winer of any of them yet the talking media heads were quick to point out Gore "sighs" but totally ignored Bush's rather impish "smirks"... So they declare Bush the winner and immediately afterwards have public reactions... Well, those reactions were not candid since those folks in the audience were either highly partisan for one candidate of the other or, if not, certainly influenced by the talking heads spin...

I also don't think it should be lost that big media has been uniformly behind efforts to drop the FCC media ownership regulations and have know before the 2000 election that Bush was the kind of guy that, if media could help, would in tern return the *favor*. And he has. It has taken a massive public outcry to get Congress to act to reverse Micheal Powell's decision... But that's just for now. The FCC regs can still be attached to the "chicken-crap" omnibus appropriations bill and slide thru anyway....

BTW, IMO, the Omnibus bill is no way to run a government... It is just a trick played on the minority party and a rip off of billions of tax payers dollars...
