Thread Name: Lyr Req: Bull of Kildare
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Bull of kildare
This is a song that i heard myself. Think it is a fairly local, and modernish folk song. Anyone in the Kildare area will know of course of Goffs Bloodstock, where Irelands best Throughbreads are bred, always assumed that this is what inspired the song. Cant say i know it, but snatches of it come to mind

First verse:
I'll Tell you a story about a great bull,
Who's Sex-ual life he has lived to the full
A beast this divine is surely quite rare,
Oh There's none in the land, like the bull of Kildare,

Chourus:
Oh bull of Kildare, all the cows in the land lover your horns
i do swear two mighty fine horns has the bull of Kildare

2nd verse ??
Think it mentions something about the cherelot, and the jersy from clare have all been encalved by the bull of Kildare

There is a few verses here then regarding his world travels till he ends up in the sahara, and as above the last verse goes....

Coming back from the desert, he passed through Belfast
The Bull got caught up in a mighty bomb blast,
Now the bull is not full, thats the truth i declare
And the cows have no use for the bull of KILDARE!!!!.

unfortunatly more than this i can't enlighten you. but maybe this will jog the memory of someone, posiibly GUEST BARRY. Seems a good hope ????
