When I visited my brother in Paris for the first time, we had brie on fresh baguettes for an aperitif (or as Graham calls it "a pair of teeth), washed down with Pineau de Charentes. Thort I'd died and gone to heaven!
I still try to emulate this here, on special occasions, but the only imported Pineau I could get was about 5 times the price, and not as nice. I keep encouraging Graham to send me a case of it, but he hasn't got a round tuit.
