Best name change story I have ever heard was where a guy got overdrawn on his bank account with the Yorkshire Bank Plc. He was overdrawn by about £10.31. The bank sent him letter drawing his attention to the matter and charged him £25 for the letter.

Now £35.31 overdrawn, this guy changes his name by deed poll to "Yorkshire Bank Plc are greedy, thieving bastards". He advised the bank of his change of name and asked them to issue him with a cheque book, they replied that they no longer wished to retain him as a customer. He then sent them a money order for £36 to settle his account instructing them to send him a cheque for £0.69 made out in his new name.
