GIANT SLOTHS

Giant Sloths once roamed the plains
eating grass and other things.
Now their descendants live in trees
way up among the birds and bees.
Sloths are not giant any more.
They're sorta small and slow, for sure.

If giant sloths were still around
we could catch one and knock it down
and separate it from its skin
and bake it in a large oven.
Or chop it into litle bits
and make sloth stew. 'Twould be a hit.

Alas, they are around no more,
those Giant Sloths from days of yore,
and we will never know the taste
of Giant Sloth with bouillabaisse
or stuffed wontons served in a broth
made from leftover Giant Sloth.
