In a totally unrelated aside--cranberry juice is also known to block that "date rape" drug you've probably heard about. There was an instance in New England where a woman on a cranberry juice diet was given the drug in a drink at a party, and while it tended to paralyze her, she was still conscious, and the rapist was convicted. None of his other vicitms had a clue about what had happened at the time they were drugged and assaulted.
