Oh, golly---I had a *raging* case of mastitis when my eldest son was a baby; I was sick as a dog, raging fever, dizziness, nausea, YUCK.
I treated it with CONSTANT hot compresses, lots & lots of water, and antibiotics. I heard about the "cabbage treatment" years later, but foirtunately never had occasion to try it again!
