Rick Lee recorded it--twice. One version is on his album "Natick" and a second is on his album "There's Talk about a Fence." Both albums are on the Waterbug label (www.waterbug.com). The second version has a more complete story. The disturbing news I must present to you is that each version uses a different tune. But if you get both of Rick Lee's CD's, you'll have two tunes for the Tinkerman's Daughter. When he and Bob Zentz were in Washington, DC earlier in August doing a concert for the Folklore Society of Greater Washington, Rick put together an interesting hybrid--singing the first version, which has an abbreviated story but a tune that I find more interesting, and then segueing into the second version with its different tune, but picking up where the first version's story left off.--Charlie Baum
