Thread Name: Tech: Netscape 7.1: where's the Trash?
Subject: RE: Tech: Netscape 7.1: where's the Trash?
My regular email is Eudora...they have a free version, but I have the paid version. This is where I do final downloading. In addition, I have Pegasus for some uses...it is the most famous 'complete' free email program, and has lots of special features...excessive for the average user...and I have not used it much recently.

I also have email within my newsreader, Agent, which I used to have set to check mail every 10 minutes, but since spam has gotten so bad, I have automatic checking disabled. Now I use it mostly to reply to usenet messages.

I have mail programs within my Mozilla broswer, my Opera browser, and in my old Netscape 4.79 browser, which will check mail there if I am expecting anything.

I also have, but have not used, a free program called "QuickSilver", which is ½ of a program for encrypting email. (It will work alone, but requires a 2nd program called "MixMaster" to do the actual encryption.) I may never need this, and am just studying it because...well..*grin*...because a feller's gotta have a hobby.

Then there are the "check your mail on the server and delete the spam" programs. I use something called "Pop3 ScanMailbox" a lot..(doesn't seem to be easily available now)...also use PopTray when I want to check 2-3 mail servers at once. And now I'm using G-Lock Spam Combat and training it to recognize spam and delete it from the server. It is pretty smart, but a bit slower, because I set it to read an online Spam database as part of its check. I used to use one called ePrompter, which is quite good...(you just get so you like one interface better)

That's 9....oh, I also have Outlook Express...somewhere..

I also USED to have Foxmail (small, but fast..from China, but nice english version) and a couple others.

I see a LOT of good comments about Pimmy (English version in middle of page), but have not used it.

...and I wouldn't be surprised if I have missed one. I have 2-3 other newsreaders, which may have email, but I have not even configured them for it.
