That was me as the original poster. And I got my answer ages ago. John Wayne bought a WWII surplus navy Destroyer Escort for a yacht. He paid a fair price for it and then began a major conversion to civiliain use. He paid another small fortune to raise all the decks to match his 6' 4" frame. You are not too tall to live aboard. Most boats are too short.
