Subject: RE: Tech: Trouble with Norton
NOrton (in various forms) seems to get teh blame Maybe rightly for many conflicts.

I ahve an odd one at the moment. First I had the usual problem that if I scan outgoing email, and have activated disconnect upon completion of uploading/downloading, then I get disconnected while scanning and the email won't go.

THere are two workrounds that might work, first to go to manually disconnect, which is a royal pain if you forget, and the second to grant permission to outlook - real dumb since outlook express and outlook are the main means for spreading viruses.

The third is to disable scanning of outgoing mail - acceptable since if you scan all incomings you should not have any virusses in your system hence noe in any outgoins. So I've done that and now although the tab says the scan outgoing is OFF, Norton still scans outgoings, and I still et disconnected.

Next stop uninstall and reinstall NOrton, I fear.

Any other ideas?
