Have you ever or are you familiar with setting nets under the ice? I saw this done once in Fort Chipewyan (northern Alberta). It is ingenious. The people there are Cree and Chipewyan. I don't know if I have the ability to describe it, but I could try if you want. My notion of ice fishing is much like yours. If I wanted the TV I'd stay at home if I had a TV at home.
