The only way I know of to shop for a mattress is to go to the store and lay on it. Bounce on it. Try to get up from it. When you've found the one you like, ask about the guarentee.

You spend 1/3 of your life in bed (at least that much!), and an uncomfortable mattress, like ill-fitting shoes, isn't worth it.
