Sleeping is always better on a boat, the quality of the mattress is not too relevant. (1) the boat moves, which is soothing. (2) sitting on a boat all evening gives you cabin fever, it is more or less obligatory to go out and have a few beers; or, in the Western isles, a few whiskies. Result: an excellent nights sleep, in all circumstances.
