Ahhhh, God was havin' some *issues* with man so He figured that he'd send in some help: Jesus, who told stories and painted picures of, ahhh, a loving God who was ready and willing to bring folks into a Kingdom of forgiveness, thus relievin' their souls and spirits of eternal guilt, i.e. : Salvation from eternal guilt...

What's wrong with this picture?

As a Christain, this is e very believable story with a sufficient body of evidence backing it up. Sure, the Gospels weren't penned until 70 years after Christ's crucifixtion but the stories must have had some very realness to them to survive that long... And here we are some 2000 years later and the stories still resonate. That speaks volumes about Christ.

Now back to the depictions of His physical death...
