If you like Nic Jones then you must listen to Chris Wood who followed on in the guitar/fiddlesinging style. His project, the English Acoustic Collective, includes John Dipper and Rob Harbron - which leads us to Dr Faustus (Rob + Tim van Eyken, Paul Sartin and Benji Kirkpatrick) - which then leads us to Bellowhead, the new big band venture founded by John Spiers and Jon Boden...

The Kate Rusby band often includes Andy Cutting and Ian Carr, both of whom collaborate musically with Chris, as do Martin Carthy and Roger Wilson. Then there's the Two Duos Quartet (Chris/Andy/Ian and Karen Tweed).

There's a start, investigating these will lead you to other fine exponents of English music today. But I must endorse the suggestion above for the sadly missed Tony Rose - and his former collaborators Pete Coe, Chris Coe and full circle...to Nic Jones.
