Sahara Nights is a fantastic fully air conditioned venue with chic decor, hidden alcoves and balconies, as well as a great bar, dancefloor, and shisha pipes! It is only a minute's walk from Kings Cross station and is easily reachable by Tube and Bus.

Jazz FM's PETER YOUNG (The Soul Cellar)

An extremely influential DJ, Peter Young has been presenting the Soul Cellar since 1979, has worked for BBC and Capital Radio and can currently be heard every Sunday on 102.2 Jazz FM bringing the best in vintage Blues and Soul to the masses.

The legendary GLADDY WAX (Wax Unlimited)

Legendary Jamaican selector Gladdy Wax has been running a sound system since the 1960s and was a chatter on Quaker City in the mid 70s. You can catch his sound system every year at The Notting Hill Carnival spinning the best in Blues, Ska, Rocksteady and early Reggae.

PAUL "SMILER" ANDERSON (The King's Tavern R&B Club)

Famous for running one of the South East's most influential Rhythm & Blues clubs in the 80s at The Kings Tavern in Reading, Smiler is also a collector of jazz, Latin, and Jamaican music, and runs a night called Rude! at The Afro Ba in Reading.

MARK NORTON (The Gene Drayton Unit, South London Pacific)

Frontman of one of London's top Soul-Jazz combos, Mark also has a great collection of vinyl and DJs regularly at The South London Pacific.

On top of this we have FREE copies of the "Martin Scorsese presents The Best of The Blues" CD to give away to the first 30 customers on the night - so arrive early!

"Martin Scorsese presents The Best of The Blues" features signature recordings by Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, Jimi Hendrix and others, plus three new recordings from the films.

We will also have visuals from three of films themselves: "Feel Like Going Home" by Martin Scorsese, "The Road to Memphis" by Richard Pearce and "Warming by the Devil's Fire" by Charles Burnett. Highlights include rare archival footage of Son House, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Rufus Thomas, Willie Dixon, Lightnin' Hopkins, Bessie Smith, Dinah Washington and Sonny Boy Williamson!

All this for a mere £5 before 10pm, £8 after!
