Bill D: You made my day! Posting that story about Jimmy Davis reminds me of one of my favorite memories of my wife. I managed the Phoenix Symphony back in the 1960s and I booked Eddy Arnold to appear in a pop concert. After the concert we drove Eddy and his manager, Jerry Purcell, back to our house for a dinner party. My wife, Velma, asked Eddy if he had ever recorded "Be Nobody's Darlin'?" He said, "No, but it's a great old song." Several months later Velma was shopping for some new records and she found Eddy's latest release. It included "Nobody's Darlin'" on it. She always believed her question reminded him of the song and he recorded it. Probably not true, but she thought it might be.Thanks for posting the story.
